Executive Director

Umutoniwase Carine is the Executive Director of Footprints for Change. Born in Rwanda and brought in Kenya, Ms. Umutoniwase is passionate about the role of youth in peace building and people centered development. She has worked on several youth led initiatives and movements including the Africa Youth Peace Network, Innovation Labs by IGAD Centre of Excellence in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, Global Unites and Amani Youth Festival among others. Carine also holds a Masters of Arts in Peace Studies and International Relations from Hekima University College, Nairobi – Kenya. Her dream is to resuscitate Pan-African leadership and thinking of united and able Africa societies to the next generation of leaders on the continent. She enjoys travelling, swimming, writing, reading and playing chess.

Victoria Wamwere

Victoria Wamwere

Program Lead, Kiota

Victoria Wamwere, the Kiota Program Lead, is a resourceful open minded and friendly project
lead. She has a responsible approach to tasks that are presented to her. Having studied sociology
and having a five-year experience as a social Worker, she is good at overseeing projects and their
implementation. She comfortably communicates at all levels making an excellent work

environment. Her love for traveling, swimming, making friends and playing badminton and
Scrabble is just contagious.

Communications Lead

A graduate at Nairobi Institute of Business studies with a diploma in Information Technology in 2007 and Web design in 2008. Has experience in sales and marketing and administration for over 10yrs. She has done Marketing for over 6yrs which she went ahead and gave more focus to Digital Marketing. She started her own marketing firm in 2017 and later became a co-founder and partner of a different digital marketing firm within the same year.

She has a passion for social media and it’s effect to the society. Apart from being the communications lead at footprints, she takes organizations, communities and school through the power and use of social media as a positive platform for business, socializing and peace.

She love music, movies, the beach and takes her name (Joy) seriously.

Program Lead, Elimisha Vizazi

Grace Ussenge is the Program Lead, Elimisha Vizazi, a community outreach program. She holds a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Africa Nazarene University.
Before working for Footprints for Change, Grace previously interned at Quaker Peace Initiatives as a
Country Programs Intern. She has also worked at Kenya Community Centre for Learning where her key
role entailed administrative and logistics coordination.
Her interests fall within strengthening human capabilities to ensure sustainability for all, especially the
vulnerable and hidden populations.
Grace enjoys singing, cooking, traveling and reading.

 

Erastus Siage Ang’ienda

Regional Program Manager
West Kenya

Erastus Siage Ang’ienda is the Program Manager for West Kenya, our newest office and the first out of Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from Busoga University and a Master’s degree in Development Communication from Uganda Pentecostal University in Fort Portal.

Prior to His assignment at Footprints for Change, Erastus was the Deputy Director in charge of programs and partnerships at FASCOBI, an NGO in Western Kenya that has a bias towards child protection, Skillful parenting and renewable energy. He is a member of technical working groups in policy formulation on child protection and climate change in Migori and HomaBay counties and also the sitting chair of the Climate Change Agenda, a working group comprised of several like-minded organizations from 8 counties that implement climate change mitigation strategies and promote smart farming for food security. He has also worked for RICNET, a HiVOS funded project in the Ruwenzori region of Western Uganda and Bwera in Eastern Congo.

He brings with him a vast knowledge in programing and implementation, monitoring and reporting, project design and execution and most of all a positive attitude and the willingness to learn.

He is a change maker and spends his time working with young kids on issues that will make them overcome social vices and mentoring young adults.
